Miscellaneous legal papers, 1833-1848.

Legal documents from Sangamon County Courts include indentures, mortgages, bankruptcy papers, a grand jury finding against someone for illegal sale of alcohol and a complaint for one claiming he was held in jail without cause. The deeds for land are for the Early, Pierson, Radford, Klein and Ragsdell families. There is one sale of land by John and Lydia Williams to John Irwin. An evaluation, by Sheriff Hueny, of land in Athens on which was located the saw mill built by Jonathan Dunn and sold to Samuel Hill.
